Selvamani is a seasoned mechanical engineer with 48 years of experience under his belt, culminating in his retirement as Engineering Director for Asia at WABCO (now ZF Vehicle Control Systems) in 2012. Throughout his career, he spearheaded the development of advanced automotive systems and played a key role in establishing product development centers across India, China, Japan, and Korea. His expertise extends beyond just technical knowledge, as evidenced by his strong background in Total Quality Management. He was even part of a team at Sundaram Clayton Limited that pursued prestigious awards like the Deming Application Prize and the Japan Quality Medal. Even after retirement, Selvamani’s passion for product development continues. He currently acts as a mentor with the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), where he has significantly improved the NPD processes for over 20 companies. He also continues to consult in areas like Design to Cost, Field Quality and Reliability Improvement, and product design.
